"JAWHARET EL ANDALOS 3" RESIDENCE

R+4 mixed-use building

Located in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, this R+4 mixed-use building is a project by DBH Architectes, conceived at the intersection of functional efficiency and local identity. Designed to accommodate retail spaces, services, and rental housing, the project responds to both urban dynamics and everyday uses.

The architectural expression is deliberately simple, rational, and economical, structured around a clear vertical grid that ensures flexibility and optimized layouts. The façades are treated with light, luminous finishes, reinforcing a contemporary and timeless image while enhancing natural daylight.

Inspired by local craftsmanship, perforated claustra screens are integrated into the façade as solar protection elements, filtering light and heat while providing visual depth and cultural resonance. The building is crowned by an activated rooftop, featuring a terrace and light pergola, conceived as an additional shared space offering comfort and openness.

With its balanced combination of economy, modernity, and cultural expression, the project has the potential to become a recognizable urban landmark
